In response to the COVID-19 pandemic AFC Unity are offering socially distanced Solidarity Soccer sessions only. For the foreseeable future there will be no contact football. We acknowledge the positive impact of sport for health and wellbeing and wish to offer football which provides this but without physical contact. Whilst every effort is made to maintain social distancing at all times and mitigation has been put in place to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission it is impossible to completely eliminate the risk of COVID-19 transmission at our Solidarity Soccer sessions. We therefore ask participants to review the risk assessment and consider their own personal risk when deciding if they would like to participate.
Our current risk assessment mandates the following:
– The COVID risk assessment is available to all participants electronically prior to a session
– A person should not attend if they are displaying symptoms of COVID, have received a positive COVID test and are required to isolate, have been in contact with someone with a positive COVID test and have been advised to isolate, or have travelled to an area requiring isolation on return. If a person does attend when any of these apply they will be asked to leave.
-A COVID briefing is given at the start of each session by the facilitating coach
-All equipment (e.g. balls and cones) are only touched by the facilitating coach (unless goalkeeper exercises are taking place), and are cleaned as soon as possible if touched by participant.
-All participants will maintain social distance of 2m before, during and after the session.
-All participants will follow hand hygiene advice, washing their hands regularly with soap and water or alcohol gel. Alcohol gel should be carried to sessions if possible and will be made available by AFC Unity / the venue.
Please note this list is not exhaustive, but an example of the types of rules we have in place, please contact us to receive a copy of our COVID-19 Risk Assessment.
